Lululemon Holiday Gift Guide

This post really doesn’t need that much of an intro. Anyone who knows me knows that three quarters of my wardrobe at minimum is lululemon, and I swear by the brand.

Over the past few years, fitness has become a huge part of my life, and I get so much more out of my workouts when I feel my best, and wearing lululemon is what truly makes me feel my best. Knowing the background of the technology behind the clothes and the purpose that the garments serve helps me feel confident and secure, no matter the activity. From a 60 minute hot yoga class, to winter walks, lululemon is my holy grail, and with the holiday season coming up, now is the perfect time to pick up some of their staples and try the products for yourselves.

Whether a woman religiously shops at lululemon, or only splurges there once in a blue moon, one thing is for certain: she knows the power of the Align Pant. The Align Pant is made from a one-of-a-kid fabric called Nulu, which has a weightless, buttery soft, naked sensation to it. It has completely ruined me, because no other leggings cut it for me anymore. And you better believe they sell an Align Jogger, too.

The nulu fabric was designed to best support low intensity workouts, like hot yoga.

I have never met anyone who didn’t look like a million bucks wearing these babies. I personally gravitate toward darker colours, as they flatter my skin tone and body type better than a lighter colour would. My favourites are Black, Navy, Dark Olive, Graphite Grey, and the colour featured here called Cassis.

Although some say you can size down in these leggings because of their stretch, I wear my regular size 2 to ensure that I’m not over stretching the fabric. While the lululemon size guide remains a great tool, I also make sure the fabric doesn’t bunch too much around the back of my knees (too big), and that when I squat, I can’t see through the fabric (too small), or that the top of the waistband doesn’t gape (too big).

For the past year, I have lived in my Scuba Oversized 1/2 Zip Hoodies. Since the ripe age of 11, I was hooked on lululemon’s regular Scuba Hoodies, but once this cropped oversized version came out, it was game over. This sweater is so breathable, and its cotton blend fleece fabric is even somehow comfier than the original Scuba.

If you want to take the comfort level a step higher, look no further than the Textured Fleece 1/2 Zip. This sweater is lined in soft cotton jersey with plush on the outside. That’s it, that's the selling factor. Plush. You’re literally wearing a blanket that locks in heat, and has a kangaroo pocket. Nothing better than that. End of discussion.

During one of our quarantines, I made an excel spreadsheet of all my clothes. Super embarrassing, I know, but I made it as a means to start curbing my shopping addiction. Something I started keeping track of was how “wearable” all my clothes were. Can I only wear them inside the house or to the gym, or can I maximize their use? That’s why I love lululemon’s “On the Move” shop. I love being able to wear items like the Double Knit Sweater to work with a pair of straight leg jeans and boots, or even a cozy bottom like the Scuba Jogger when I’m out and about. Both are so cozy to the touch, while also hugging and flattering the body.

If you’re looking to buy (or ask for) a smaller item as a gift, you can’t go wrong with the Everywhere Belt Bag. I have 3 bags, 2 of which have lasted almost 3 years, and mine have basically transformed into a new limb attached to my body. I feel naked without one. The belt bags are way more spacious than they appear, and their water repellent fabric makes them wearable year round. I recommend darker colours so that they stay as clean as possible.

Time to talk bras! The Free to Be Wild Bra is my all time favourite bra from lululemon, and one I wear almost every day. I think I only wear a real bra twice a month now, if anything.

The Free to Be Wild bra was designed to provide light support for an A/B cup. The great thing about lululemon is that they release different versions of an item so that it can cater to different bodies while still maintaining design consistency. For example, if the Free To Be Wild bra doesn’t provide enough support or isn’t big enough for your bust, you can check out the Free to Be Serene Bra, light support designed for a C/D cup (which now that I think about it may be giving my Free to be Wild bras a run for their money), the Free to Be Moved Bra, medium support designed for an A/B cup, or the Free to Be Elevated Bra, light support for a DD/E cup.

Bras also come in high neck and longline options, as well - something for everyone, and every comfort level!

Happy shopping!
